By the way, on the topic of cut scenes. I can tell you from personal experience that they require a lot of extra time and work. Cutscenes are so much work that they are often budgetted seperately from the rest of the workload. They demand a lot of pollishing, and if they don't look atleast as good as the other cutscenes, they might as well be left out. Often it's better to just add extra content instead. During our last project, we had a whole different team work on the cutscenes for DLC, while everyone else focussed on the levels, coding, boss encounters and scripting. Cut scenes are not something that you add at the snap of a finger. It takes a lot of people.

Oooh Regina threw a stick. I think a lot of us know that the live team is very busy and the work is appreciated.

I'm frustrated at whomever in Anet thought that having a live team of 4 people would be sufficient for skill updates and new content. There's so much out there that still needs to be fixed and tweaked that would make the game much more enjoyable than new content. I even recall reading something implying that they wouldn't prioritize new content. Grumble grumble... really there's only so much you can do about GW2 in GW1...

EDIT: But then again!

Will the 3-hero restriction be lifted so we can have 7 heroes in a party?
A: It is high unlikely that this would happen as long as the playerbase remains strong (which it is). I expect that it will be years before we even consider it further.
What a mess.

they should make Togo try to come back, but get corrupted by some evil force piggybacking on him and then we'd have to fight him. And he'd have some sort of minion/spirit control so there wouldnt be any spiritway going up against him.

@AngelWJedi: Couldn't you have at least tried to make an argument that at least pretends to have any validity to it?

They give us new content for free and finance it by selling (overpriced, optional, cosmetic) costumes (for the price of a bonus mission pack), therefore (and because they announced additional free content coupled with additional costumes) they are going to sell us content!? What?

I'm in the boat where costumes are a get em if you want them. They are not saying buy them if you want to play. I've been playing gw for 5 plus years and I don't have the slightest problem paying for the nifty duds! While balanced play and the dervish updates are important too, the new cash shop items are a viable way of keeping our live team paid and happy. Gw is an old game and kudos are in order for finding a creatie way to bring in extra needed cash. So buy em if you want em ignore them if you don't and keep our collective pantyhose on while we wait for them to do their best! I trust our guys, and am waiting with baited breath for the wedding dresses! Frills and lace and ohhmy a veil...common wedding bells!

Anyone think there may be a possibility that they may be talking something more along the lines of this Then a gwen/thackery wedding?

Or do people see a conection I don't see btween that statement and Gwen and a person who has completely disappeared. I mean really a gwen/thakery wedding would probably take place near the end of the next part of GW:B and think about how long WiK took. You really think that we will be seeing at least a fair bit of the next story arc in the next month?

I believe the Thackerys dissappearance is still part of WiK ending and will be here before Wintersday by the way they state about the costumes. The way its worded makes us think we'll get the costumes BEFORE the wintersday ones that are mentioned in the final paragraph. Also yeah , it reminded me of that link...crikey remember the days of guild capes like that...me niether

I'm pretty sure that it was said before that they planned on wrapping up the Gwen/Thackery storyline before the next big GW:B thing; does anyone else recall that? Because if that's so, then the wedding mentioned would definitely be theirs, and would probably be pretty soon. And also means that Canthan GW:B would probably be after the start of the new year.

Now, what this game desperately needs are Lady GaGa costumes. The entire line. How can anyone possibly play this game unless they can look fabulous? It would bring a whole new meaning to 'meat shield'. Lady GaGa has nothing to do with Guild Wars, but what does that matter?

*sarcasm (mostly) off*

Top hats. Really (or even not)? Where has this game gone? I know its dead, but must its shred of remaining dignity be obliterated too? ANet, stop making costumes and release GW2!

Hm.

And yeah, those 40 were in relation to the halloween costumes:
2 costumes * 2 genders * 10 professions = 40 costumes.
They have to recreate the costume for every profession to fit the model/animations.

While i love the new content, it doesn't change the fact that no skill updates make for stale play. They are wholly separate from each other. I can be stoked that we have new enemies to fight and new stuff coming out in Cantha, but still be bummed that the Test Krewe was "hired" a year ago and we have gotten, basically 2 updates from them in that time, and the one that happened today is quite honestly inconsequential except for GvG.

Shouldn't the new income generated by the sheer volume of players that have purchased just the halloween costumes warrant a hire or two to get us some skill updates with more frequency? I remember quotes this time last year that we were going to get them every 2 months. That didn't happen. It feels like a 3 steps forward(costumes, new content) 2 steps back(inconsistent information in the way of what we are told by the CM's and what actually happens in the game). It makes for joy and frustration all at the same time.

I guess I just wish you guys would do what you say for all aspects of the game. No one ever even posted here saying anything like, "Sorry guys, that skill update every two months; we can't stick to that. Our sincerest apologies." For all you do, we appreciate it, but that doesn't change us wanting the game play to change in the form of skill updates every two months like you said it was going to.

I'm really just worried that sometime next year we're going to log into the game and see the in-game store with dozens of costumes for purchase. s_O I've always been driven away from games that have a cash shop like that (they really make a game feel cheap, and not in the good way). A few items here and there is one thing, but after a while it just feels like the people behind the scenes are pumping out easy ideas for quick cash. I suppose it's understandable, since I'd imagine designing a costume is much faster and easier than completely new content and you guys do have to pay the bills, but it'd be nice to see something other than just cosmetic clones-tumes all the time. Give us something other than costumes, if you really have to make it purchased content. Please?

Like I said, they're nice, but I think too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. D:

Hopefully they let us finally buy an Ebon Vanguard outfit, one just like Ebon Vanguard Soldier. I've wanted that since GWEN came out.

While I get what your saying...
I would rather have these solely cosmetic rewards rather then having to buy the next part of GW:B for 10$ like another BMP.
Sadly, theres not a ton you can do that is solely 100% cosmetic.

Well maybe not even new content. New weapons, new side-items (like the additional storage panes, name changes, and makeovers), or unlock packs. Things that would enhance the game in a new way.

They could pull tons of ideas from the suggestions forum. A keyring, someone suggested a xunlai pouch that would act as a portable xunlai storage chest, a "decustomize" scroll so that people could decustomize weapons to sell them if they changed their mind, etc. Small things that aren't completely new content, but add something to the game other than prettiness.

When I hear wind I think abaddon, though I'd say it's not likely he will return. Kind of tired of the abaddon thing anywayz, its becoming like "aliens did it". It's more than likely Dhumm since mad king was mentioned. On a side note.....TOP HATS????!!!!!!!!!!zomg!!!!!!!!!
